How fast will I get my certificate?

Most certificates are reviewed and emailed within a few hours during Australian business hours. Outside of business hours requests are processed first thing the next morning.

How much does a certificate cost?

Single-day certificates are $10 AUD. Certificates covering 2 to 5 consecutive days are $20 AUD. There are no subscriptions or hidden fees, and you are not charged if the doctor declines your request.

What conditions are eligible?

Common short-term illnesses such as colds, flu, COVID-19, gastro, headaches, period pain, back pain and mental-health days. Medibyte is not appropriate for emergencies, chronic disease management, fit-to-work assessments, fit-to-fly clearances, or pre-employment medicals.

Will my employer or school accept it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each certificate is signed by an AHPRA-registered Australian doctor and includes a unique verification code that your employer or school can check on our Verify page.

Question 5

How does the verification page work?

Accepted Answer

To protect patient privacy, verifying a certificate requires both the unique code printed on the PDF AND the patient's date of birth. This means only people the patient has shared the certificate with can confirm its details.

Question 6

What if my certificate is declined?

Accepted Answer

If the reviewing doctor decides telehealth is not appropriate, you will not be charged. You will receive an email explaining the reason and a recommendation (usually to see your regular GP or attend an emergency department).

How is my health information handled?

I have an urgent medical concern — should I use Medibyte?

Accepted Answer

No. If you have chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe pain, neurological symptoms or thoughts of self-harm, call 000 or visit your nearest Emergency Department immediately. Medibyte is for everyday illness only.
